Life support
Life support registration
If you have a life support machine at your premises, it’s important that you let us know as soon as possible. This important information is used to register you as a life support customer with us and your energy distributor.
Call us on 1800 010 648 to register your life support equipment. Once we’ve registered you for life support, we’ll then send you an application form (Medical Confirmation form) and further information. You may need to speak with your medical practitioner to ensure that your life support equipment meets the criteria under the life support framework.
Both Tango Energy and your distributor can provide you with practical advice when dealing with power failures and interruptions to your energy supply.

Life Support Concession
The Life Support Concession assists customers who require the use of specific life support machines in their home.
The electricity discount is the cost of 1,880 kilowatt hours (470 kilowatt hours per quarter) of electricity each year, calculated using the general domestic tariff of your retailer.
Approved machines are those that use at least 1,880 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. Machines already approved are:
- Intermittent peritoneal dialysis machines (electricity)
- Oxygen concentrators (electricity)
- Haemodialysis machines (electricity and water).
Applications for other machines must be approved by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Most continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP) machines do not meet the 1,880 kilowatt hour threshold.
For further information on the VIC Life Support Concession please refer to the DHHS website.
