Additional Charges

Reconnection

When moving into a new house, a reconnection fee may apply when your distributor needs to reconnect the energy supply. This fee is set by your energy distributor and is subject to change. 

Disconnection

A disconnection fee may apply when you move out of your home and the power needs to be disconnected by your distributor. This fee is set by your energy distributor and is subject to change. 

Special meter read

When moving into a new property, a technician may need to take a read of your meter to ensure you are only charged for any new usage. 

The charges listed below are effective as of 1 July 2024.

All distributor charges listed are for services conducted during business hours and are inclusive of GST, for services that we may have to arrange on your behalf through your distributor. Fees subject to change.

**Starting 1 January 2025, all new gas connections in Victoria will require an upfront connection fee. This fee is set by your Gas distributor and is subject to change.

SA Power Networks – Service Order Times – Business Hours

Reconnection

All reconnections raised before 2.00 pm are considered as business hours for the same business day.
All reconnections raised after 2:00 pm are considered as business hours for the next business day.

Disconnection

All disconnections raised before 2:00 pm require two business days' notice.
All disconnections raised after 2:00 pm require three business days' notice.
No disconnections are able to be raised on Friday, weekends, or public holidays.

Please note, if access is not provided, or if a customer is not on-site, a wasted Truck Visit Fee will apply.
